The African Journal of Built Environment Research is a peer-reviewed international journal affiliated with the West Africa Built Environment Research (WABER) Conference.

The journal exists to publish papers that relate to built environment research, in particular, topics relating to the broad areas of architecture, building technology, construction management and engineering, construction science, estate management / real estate and property management, quantity surveying and construction economics, and urban and regional planning. Papers must develop, test, or advance theory and contribute new knowledge to what we already know.

The aim of the journal is therefore to provide a regional outlet for publication of research papers that advance our scientific understanding of built environment issues in African countries.

The balance of subject matter published in the journal is determined by the editors. The editorial advisory board provides guidance on the direction the journal should take and by reviewing submitted manuscripts and helps to set and maintain high quality standards.

The journal issues will typically contain information on forthcoming research conferences and events on the African continent and critical reviews of newly published books relevant to the built environment in Africa as an aid to the selection of books for your library.

Journal issues will be made available to libraries of African universities and polytechnics.
